What your website should be doing every month

A managed website should have observable maintenance and review work behind it. That does not mean publishing filler or promising rankings on a calendar.

The useful version

  • Test the paths a real lead uses.
  • Keep offers, hours, staff, service areas, and contact details accurate.
  • Review performance and accessibility after meaningful changes.
  • Tie reports to calls, forms, and next steps where tracking is connected.
01

Test the inquiry path

Submit each important form, tap each mobile call link, and check booking and confirmation steps. Verify the notification reaches the correct owner and that the lead receives the intended response.

A test should use a clearly marked internal record so it does not contaminate sales reporting.

02

Review business accuracy

Check hours, services, offers, coverage areas, staff information, pricing language, policies, and contact details. Update only what has changed; a monthly retainer should not require unnecessary edits to appear busy.

03

Inspect technical health

Review uptime and backup records from actual monitoring sources, apply dependency or platform updates safely, and check important pages on current mobile and desktop browsers.

Performance scores are diagnostic signals, not revenue metrics. Investigate material regressions in context.

04

Check measurement quality

Confirm that analytics and advertising events still fire after releases, consent behavior matches the configuration, and referral or campaign data reaches the lead record when appropriate.

Reports should distinguish traffic, inquiries, qualified inquiries, and booked next steps rather than treating them as interchangeable.

05

Make one evidence-based improvement

Use observed buyer questions, sales-call notes, search data, support requests, or form behavior to choose the next improvement. Record what changed and what signal would justify keeping it.
